Description

From Sukarame in Aceh, whose name means “gathering,” this coffee is grown by smallholder families at 1’100–1’500 meters. Hand-picked cherries are fermented overnight, depulped and dried slowly with the honey layer on raised beds. Every bag supports sustainable farming practices and rainforest protection through the Orang Utan Coffee Project, helping protect the Leuser Ecosystem and endangered Sumatran orangutans.

This Honey Processed coffee is sweet and fruity with brown sugar and juicy red fruit notes. During processing, a thin layer of fruit mucilage from the coffee bean cherry called “honey” remain as it dries. This adds sweetness, clarity and a round body to the mouthfeel. Each cup is lively, balanced and full of Sumatran character. Perfect for a single-origin espresso, french press or a special filter coffee.
