WHAT YOU WILL LEARN
We at ViCAFE have a mission: we want to offer our customers an exceptional coffee experience. Part of this is that, as a social and ecological Zurich-based company, we value sustainability. We carefully select our coffee farmers and know them personally, we know exactly which coffee was grown where - and we do everything we can to create an excellent product with our producers and partners: your favourite coffee.
We have built up a wealth of experience in our espresso bars since 2014. Our baristi know how to get the best out of a coffee bean. We now pass on this knowledge: in our home barista courses. These courses are based on the same principles and philosophy that we use to train our own baristi.
You will learn where and under what conditions our coffee grows, how it is processed and why it is important for us to know our supply and value chain down to the last detail. And, of course, you'll get an insight into the basic theory behind coffee. What is a "speciality coffee"? What is the difference between Robusta and Arabica beans? What do you need to pay attention to so that you can brew your perfect coffee yourself? How do you influence the taste of your espresso?
In the practical part, you work on a La Marzocco. You learn how to adjust the grinder and the grind to your coffee. You'll find your perfect extraction recipe. And you'll foam whole or plant milk into a professional micro-foam, which you can use to try your hand at latte art.
Our experienced coffee experts will guide you through the course - they have one mission: you will only drink excellent coffee.
