Description

The coffee is part of a conservation initiative that protects the remaining wild orangutans by supporting sustainable coffee farming and rainforest preservation. Each kilogram of green coffee contributes a direct premium to farmers and the Orang Utan protection programme, helping preserve biodiversity and livelihoods.

these capsules are Nespresso®-compatible and designed to perform perfectly in your home machine. For the best results, we recommend a single 80ml espresso shot to capture the full sweetness and round body. Each box contains 10 coffee capsules.

Capsules 100% home-compostable (TÜV Austria certified), made from paper and biopolymer and doesn't contain PHB or oil-based plastics

This Lungo capsule is made from the Indonesia Orang Utan Project coffee and best enjoyed as 80ml shot. The cup is intense and full-bodied, showing orange brightness, sweet licorice, caramel depth, and a hint of marzipan. Its washed and wet-hulled processing creates a distinctive structure typical of high-quality Sumatran coffees, combining clarity with depth.

ViCAFE Lungo Capsules

For the Lungo capsules, we use a special project coffee from Indonesia. This coffee originates from the village of Wih Bersih in the Gayo Highlands, where smallholder families manage their coffee gardens organically and actively work to protect the rainforest. It features a unique profile that is perfectly balanced for the longer brewing time of a Lungo, allowing its full, spicy aroma to unfold.

There is an important mission behind this coffee: protecting the critically endangered Sumatran orangutans. As their habitat is under massive threat from deforestation, the local producers are committed to preserving the ecosystem.

For these sustainable farming methods, both the farmers and the Orang Utan Coffee Project receive a premium of EUR 1.50 per kilogram of green coffee. With every cup, you are making a valuable contribution to preserving biodiversity.
