Description

During our visit to Oscar in Pitalito back in autumn 2019, we exchanged exciting ideas about how to cultivate coffee organically in new ways. With our financial support and commitment to a purchase guarantee once developed, Oscar was able to test new cultivation methods with minimized risk. In the method he developed, agrochemicals were completely removed from the process and instead healthy, natural compost was used. In order to have sufficient compost available, ViFOUNDATION helped to finance a new composting plant on the farm. After roughly four years, the first beans have now arrived at our roastery in summer 2023. We are very pleased to offer you this special project coffee, Los Nogales PINK.

Finca Los Nogales Pink Bourbon is a unique project coffee that we developed together with Oscar Hernández.

Oscar is a very experimental coffee farmer and works closely with his sister Angie and Karen, a chemical engineer, who are jointly responsible for "research and microbiology". During our visit in fall 2019, we discussed innovative, organic farming methods.

With our support, Oscar was able to develop a new method that avoids agrochemicals and uses natural compost methods instead. Four years later, the first beans arrived.
