POUR-OVER FILTER COFFEE
The perfect method for coffee enthusiasts who like to experiment.
Ingredients
- 26-32 g coffee
- 440-500 g water
Tools
- Dripper (e.g. Hario V60)
- (Paper) Filter
- Grinder
- Scale
- Stopwatch
METHOD
Step 1
Preheat the water.
Step 2
Grind the coffee. The amount of coffee will vary depending on how strong you like your brew.
Step 3
Fold the filter, place it in the dripper and pour some hot water through it to remove the unwanted odour of paper and to warm up the dripper. Pour out the water.
Step 4
Now, scoop the ground coffee into the paper filter.
Step 5
Place the dripper on the scale, start your stopwatch and wet the ground coffee by pouring 50-60 g of water over it. Let the coffee bloom for 30 seconds to allow even extraction.
Step 6
Pour more water slowly and in a circular motion over the coffee until the scale shows 200 grams. Wait another 30 seconds.
Step 7
Add the remaining water until the coffee extraction is complete.
Step 8
Swirl the jug and enjoy the brew!
Tips
- Use freshly ground coffee.
- Always brew with a scale and stopwatch.
- Experiment with the amount of coffee, the degree of grinding, the water temperature and the brewing time. Find out which flavour profile you like best.
